BLUERIBBON AI INSIDER · ISSUE #3
Check Before You Repeat It
September 2026·Correction · Getting Started · Tools · Trust
This issue opens by correcting our own work. In May we printed a statistic we could not later stand up, so we have pulled it and said so on that issue. That turned into the theme for this month: almost nothing in the AI conversation gets checked before it gets repeated. Everything below is something you can do this month without buying anything.
⚡ ACTION TIP
Write Your Top 20 Questions
One hour, no technology, and it is the highest-leverage thing an owner can do this month. List the twenty questions customers actually ask you. Pricing, service area, hours, emergency call-outs, warranty, what happens if it rains, how soon can you start. Write one honest paragraph answering each. That is the whole exercise. Do it and every AI tool, every new hire, and every answering service suddenly gives the same correct answer. Skip it and none of them can, no matter what you spend. The gap between businesses that get value out of AI and businesses that do not is usually this, not the software.
The thread this month is that the AI conversation has a sourcing problem and it is getting worse, because tools now repeat unchecked claims with total confidence. We added to that in May and we have corrected it here. The owners who come out of this era well will not be the ones with the most tools. They will be the ones who asked who says so before acting on it. If this was useful, forward it to one business owner who has been repeating a statistic they have never checked.
